The week that was = all about connecting. Connecting with people I already knew, meeting new connections and connecting in with my personal vision of success for business, myself and the wider community.
The week ahead = finally connecting all the pieces together of a new business venture – Script Marketing. Exciting to be almost there after weeks of hard work, late nights and brain power.
The Little Black Dress Group travelled to Canberra and Melbourne this week – great discussion and debate, a sharing of minds, an environment of care and collaboration, the creation of successful business relationships and friendships and so many insights for each of us to take back in to our personal lives and businesses.
Some of the key points for me personally were:
- A need to understand your own value and belief system is fundamental if you are going to manage brand ME now and into the future.
- Intuition is a powerful tool and if engaged can be empowering as we make decisions that allow us to move forward professionally and personally.
- Language is a powerful way to engage and connect. It also allows us to retrain our brains to move forward positively in the direction of our goals – say what you mean, mean what you say and have purposeful conversations with yourself and others.
- The power of visualisation – visualising by watching yourself achieving your goals
- The importance of starting out with the end in mind, the WHY, the compelling future that we, individually are creating for ourselves.
- Remove judgement from your life – if you don’t judge others you, yourself cannot be judged.
It was wonderful to hear all the business progress since our last dinners from our fabulous Little Black Dress Group members and of course to commit to paper actions for the following month.
You all know who you are and you really are incredible women.
So the week ahead is going to be another packed one – all heading in the direction of goals for 2012.
MONDAY – a day of Script website building – content, content, content, test, test, test as we work towards our end of week launch date. Not forgetting a look book design and print briefing for one of our clients.
TUESDAY – potential new client meetings for Script. It’s so exciting to be invited to meet great retail brands to discuss opportunities to work together
WEDNESDAY – our first every Advisory Committee meeting of the Little Black Dress Group’s First Seeds Fund*. This Fund focuses on raising money to support women and children in the grass roots of Australia with a focus on education and employment. It’s exciting to not only have launched this initiative but more importantly to witness the power of a community coming together and working collaboratively to drive change. If you want to find out more or how to get involved details can be found at www.littleblackdressgroup.com.au
And to finish off the day I will be hosting a Little Black Dress Group dinner in Sydney. So excited to see our Sydney members again – first dinner seminar of 2012 and I am looking forward to hearing everyone’s plans for 2012.
THURSDAY – business development day as we discuss resource requirements for our growing businesses
FRIDAY – is usually my mummy day but given the impending launch of the Script website there may be a bit of juggling going on between swimming lessons, school pick up / drop off and testing.
To share a quote from the incredible Steve Jobs
“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become Everything else is secondary.”
Have a fabulous week.
