Glimmers from 2025

Time flies when you’re being pulled in every direction as a business owner, a leader, and, let’s face it, a real-life superhero.

But in all the busy-ness, we often miss something truly important.

The magic.

For those who’ve been with me for a while, you might have heard me talk about glimmer moments. And at this time of year, I believe we need them more than ever.

Glimmers are the small, fleeting moments that spark a sense of peace or joy, the ones you might miss if you’re not paying attention.

Glimmers can be as simple as watching your kids do what you love. For me, that’s been on the sidelines of Carter’s Rugby games and getting to witness Flynn discover his passions and follow them into adulthood.

Glimmers can be huge momentous occasions. One of these was the moment I got to spend as Taya’s support as she ran her first ultra marathon (all 50km of it). Or the opportunity I had with my retreat participants kayaking with dolphins.

Sometimes glimmers might not feel very spectacular while we live them. One of the moments for me that stands out from 2025 was my trip to Denver and DC. I got to stand on stage and share my IP in a way that was incredibly impactful. I still look back on that feedback with joy. At the time, though, I was so sick that I could barely leave my hotel room, and on top it off, it was my birthday. As I look back on the year, even these moments that were trying were little glimmers of my own strength and the impact I’ve grown through my business.

That’s why I invite you to join me in my glimmer moment tradition for 2025.

Every year on New Year’s Eve, before heading out to celebrate, I carve out time to reflect. I grab my journal and scroll through my camera reel, noting down at least one glimmer moment for each month of the year. Some are big, like a milestone birthday, stepping onto a stage to speak, or meeting someone who made an impact on me. Others are quieter, everyday moments like a swim in the ocean, a coffee date with a friend, or a cuddle with one of my fur family.

It’s in this ritual that I slow down the feeling of the year having raced by, and I truly see the beauty of the 12 months that have passed.

While life’s stresses and challenges seem to shout for your attention, glimmers are the gentle whispers reminding you of joy, beauty, and connection.

How many glimmers can you count for 2025? Even for a busy year, I’m sure there are some sparkling memories waiting to be discovered.
