Do You Truly Value Yourself?

If you emphatically said YES to the subject line above, then I want to ask you one question that digs deeper.

If you truly value yourself, WHY ARE YOU STILL DISCOUNTING YOUR SERVICES?

I’ve spoken to so many people recently who are discounting their services out of fear that no one will buy from them otherwise—especially in the current climate. This simply isn’t true. When we find the right clients, they will buy from us because we aren’t the cheapest in the market. They value what we bring to the table.

When we discount, we’re not just compromising on price. We’re compromising on our values, picking up clients that don’t align with our business growth, and investing energy where we shouldn’t. We compromise on price, time spent with family, quality of sleep, and the standards to which we hold ourselves and our work.

It’s time to reassess our non-negotiables and truly value your worth, your time, and where you invest your energy.

Here are a few of my non-negotiables:

Valuing My Worth: No More Compromising
Over my years in business, I’ve learned that nobody wins when I undervalue myself. When I discount my prices or lower my rates to suit a budget, I lose that spark that makes my work impactful. Undercharging often leads to resentment and the client no longer gets our best. It’s a lose-lose situation. So, in every situation, no matter how scary it might feel, I always charge my worth. Another facet is investing in myself and growing my worth so I bring more value to the table every time. I’m committed to a knowledge and network-building trip later this year for this very reason. How much time do you spend investing in yourself and learning your worth?

No Excuses: Time is Now
It’s easy to stay comfortable and say, “I’ll get to it in six months when I have more time.” The truth is, you will never have more time than you do right now. Making excuses isn’t an option. If I commit to something, I see it through from day one until it’s finished. I want to be surrounded by people who put in the work because they see the impact they will have. Is this the kind of person you see yourself being? Then you need to cut the excuses and put in the work.

Collaboration: Strength in Unity
I believe we are stronger together and aim to foster a community of collaboration through my Elevate and Inner Circle programs and personal relationships. We rise by lifting others, and that’s why collaboration is a focus in my life. Going it alone is not something I tolerate anymore.

Work Smarter: Strategic Excellence
Doing the work doesn’t mean making things difficult. If there’s a smarter way to do it, whether that’s learning from someone else or thinking outside the box, that’s what I welcome. Taking the time to plan and map out the road ahead is a non-negotiable for me, and it’s something my team and I do every quarter for my business.

Fun: If It’s Not Fun, It’s Not For Me
If something doesn’t spark fun and adventure within me, I reconsider pursuing it. This includes client relationships, work projects, and personal commitments. I want to be surrounded by people who genuinely enjoy what they do, and I want to be one of those people too. It’s about creating a life I enjoy living, not just one that looks good on paper.

What are your non-negotiables? Start with one. If I had to pick one area to start with, it would be no longer discounting your worth to be more palatable to clients that aren’t ideal for you. And you have to live it too.

If you need support in living into these non-negotiables, lean on me for support. You deserve more than to be a discount.
