Another week rolls in and what a week it’s going to be. After spending the last few weeks juggling work with school holidays and then last week with the first week of school, I finally feel I can have my first week of 2012 totally focusing on the business and getting back in to some type of routine.
This weekend the business excitement started as we viewed potential new office space. Strangely it not only fit my personal brief entirely but the location, layout and building style had been foreseen by my business partner’s clairvoyant! Yikes! We now have to enter negotiation and play the waiting game.
It’s going to be a big and exciting week this week of new connections, reconnections and collaborative working.
Monday starts off with a monthly kick-off meeting with my fabulous VA, Sarah. Sarah really is incredible and if anyone is contemplating a VA – I can highly recommend. We are then heading off to see a potential new client for Script Marketing….and amongst all this working tirelessly to our website launch date – content, content, content……
Tuesday is a day of filming some incredible and empowered business women for the Little Black Dress Group’s “In Conversation With” series. I am so excited to be interviewing the incredible Suzie Hoitink, CEO of Clear Complexions who is flying in from Canberra; Nikki Fogden-Moore, creator of Life’s a Gym is heading down from Brisbane; Sarah Pavillard, Founder & Director of The Dreamery apparel website (and she’s bringing some LBD’s for me to try on!!); Kristi Mansfield from the Sydney Women’s Foundation and a personal inspiration to me, Jen Dalitz from Sphinx.
Wednesday I have been invited to join Cindy Luken’s Table of Fabulousness for lunch before heading off to Canberra to host a Little Black Dress Group dinner at The Boathouse. We have an interesting agenda and evening ahead as a special guest will share with us her secrets to success.
Thursday it’s on to Melbourne for the first Board meeting of 2012 of the Australian Women Donors Network. I recently joined the Board and find the vision, direction and commitments of the other Board members to the cause of driving philanthropic efforts to women and girls and seeing the world through a gender lens incredibly inspiring, motivating and uplifting. The CEO, Eve Mahlab has committed her life to this cause and thought leadership in this arena. I learn something every time I meet with Eve so let’s see what happens this week. The day rounds off with a Melbourne Little Black Dress Dinner. This will be a great evening as we have a fabulous mixture of existing members and their guests who I will be meeting for the first time.
Friday will be an early rise as I rush home to spend the day with my 3 year old before picking up the other two from school. I will certainly be ready for our regular Friday night family pizza and film night and the weekend ahead.
Enjoy your week. Be successful in all you do and speak to you soon.
