If you can imagine it, you can achieve it.

“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it.  If you can dream it, you can become it” – William Arthur Ward

With the adrenalin still rushing from last night’s official launch, my eyes desperate to close after months of working in to the early hours and with my 3 year old hankering to go bike riding on this glorious Sydney day, today finally sees the first step forward after months and months of hard work and planning –  the switching on of the Little Black Dress Group website.

I am excited and nervous.  I am clear of the destination ahead but unsure exactly of what the journey there looks like.   I feel naked as finally I put my thoughts, views, dreams and goals out in the open.  I know I have to flick that switch and as soon as I finish writing this, I will.  I have no doubt that there will be some typos, glitches, things that stop working but I move forward knowing that surrounding me, supporting the vision of the Little Black Dress Group is an amazing community that won’t judge, that will value the realism and that will work together, collaboratively, to ensure success and growth.

I cannot even begin to share with you the emotional roller coaster of getting here, but one day I promise I will.  Or the range of emotions experienced at last night’s launch as I shared, from the heart, my vision amongst 45 amazingly successful, empowered and inspirational women from all industries and professions.  Lawyers, venture capitalists, media and PR, retailers, designers, philanthropists, entrepreneurs and new sole business owners – like-minded women from across Australia came together, united in our goal to believe in our own leadership styles, the organisational cultures we are creating and with a joint aim  as a single united voice, to become architects of change.

Thank you for all the words of encouragement and applause.  Last night I was told many times to stop, take a mental picture and acknowledge what had already been achieved.  But the thing I take away the most from last night was the incredible energy, love and support as women came together, connections were made, reciprocity happened and new friendships and business relationships were formed.

I imagined.  I have and still dream.  And last night I was lucky enough to see the start of the becoming.
